Geriatrics Fellowship Program 2020 Graduating Geriatrics Fellows Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program, Moses and Einstein Campuses Program Overview Our ACGME accredited comprehensive one-year training program prepares trainees for careers in academic medical centers as clinician-educators and for clinical practice in the ambulatory, home, nursing home, or acute care setting. A second year of fellowship focusing on research is available for select applicants. This fellowship is designed for board-eligible physicians in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Additional years of advanced fellowship training are available for qualified applicants via several sources including an NIH training grant in Aging Research. Geriatrics fellowship training primarily takes place at Montefiore Medical Center, the University hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Fellows work closely with the nationally renowned Division of Geriatrics faculty as well as the faculty from the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry. The two divisions share the majority of clinical and educational experiences which creates an outstanding and rich learning environment. Fellows are also exposed to leaders from Neurology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Bioethics, Population Health and work within a strong interdisciplinary team including specialists from Geriatric Social Work and Nursing. AGS 2019 and AGS 2020 Additional Educational Opportunity in Bioethics Certificate Course in Bioethics Starting 2020-2021 the Division of Geriatrics will provide one scholarship annually for a fellow to participate in the Montefiore Einstein certificate course in Bioethics and Medical Humanities. This outstanding year long course provides the fundamentals of bioethics. Credits from this course can be applied to a Master of Science in Bioethics. The selection process is competitive and will be made in conjunction with the Bioethics faculty on the basis of an application and interview.
