PRESENT:  Drs. Allen Spiegel, Jeffrey Segall, Stephen Baum, Ed Burns, Barbara Birshtein, Anne Bresnick, Hannes Buelow, Ulrich Kadolsky, Vinayaka Prasad, Victor Schuster, Pamela Stanley, Karen Weidenheim, Mr. Cary Weiss

The minutes of the October 17 meeting were approved.

The first Board meeting of the year has been held.  A proposal for an education center was presented.  In addition, a chair of Pediatrics and Director of CHAM has been appointed and will arrive in the spring. 

The experience with Sandy was discussed.  Overall, Einstein came through relatively unscathed, although Mazer lost primary power because it is on community power that is above ground but generators provided backup.  Additional backup possibilities are being considered. 

Einstein is helping with NYU medical student and resident training. 

The meeting adjourned at 3:40 p.m.
