PRESENT: Drs. Allen Spiegel, Jeffrey Segall, Elyse Sussman, Robbie Burk, Ekaterina Dadachova, Harris Goldstein, Ulrich Kadolsky, Nadine Katz, Todd Olson, Victor Schuster, Drs. Stephen Baum, Ed Burns

The lead candidate for the Neuroscience chair declined the position. A new search will begin and the timing of the next search is under consideration. Jacobi has a new OBGYN chair who visited last week and is interested in collaborating and restarting the residency program.

The ECG consultants have arrived for the top to bottom evaluation of fiscal operations.

There was a discussion of the fiscal relationship between Einstein and its clinical affiliates.

The next Board meeting will have a panel discussion of the pros and cons of a three year medical school term and the costs of a medical education.

The Dean summarized the AAMC Council of Deans meeting that he attended last week, where information was presented indicating that basic science research faculty in medical schools is static vs large increases in clinical faculty.

The meeting adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
