Dr. Spiegel gave an update on the education center and on several symposia, including one attended by the New York State Health Commissioner, as well as the successful Harmonie Club and Einstein’s Women’s Division 60th anniversary events. He also encouraged grant opportunities at the National Center for Advancement of Translational Science.

Ms. Habousha then described the vast resources available through the library . Not only are there are tens of thousands of books and journals available in the library and online, there are hundreds of databases, and site licenses for medical board prep sites, and citation management programs. The library has rooms for group and for intense (silent) study.

Dr. Poulos was installed as the new Secretary of the Senate by proclamation.

Drs. Kopp and Nordstrom described the capabilities of the Chemical Biology Core Facility. This core facility can develop probes or modify molecules to aid in drug discovery at Einstein. They can also scale-up syntheses to make specific probes available at low cost to the Einstein community.
