The April 2 minutes were approved.

The new tenure policy proposal is nearly complete.

This year’s tenure process has identified 3 individuals who will be proposed for tenure.

The 2013 Nature ranking of the top 200 institutions publishing in the Nature group has come out. Einstein ranked 67th.

The PNAS article describing US biomedical research funding issues was discussed. The opportunities and difficulties faced by students and postdocs in moving into independent research positions require that new strategies be developed.

The meeting adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
