MINUTES OF SENATE COUNCIL MEETING

June 25, 2014

The minutes of the June 11, 2014 meeting were approved.

There was a summary of the 1 pm meeting with Mr. Einiger and the basic science chairs on the issue of salary reduction letters to tenured faculty. There will be a tolling agreement to put both the letters and deadline for protesting the letters on hold. During that time there will be an ongoing development of a new tenure policy in the hopes that a mutually agreeable policy can be approved that will be acceptable in the context of a new partnership with Montefiore.

There will be roughly 16 transition teams with faculty representation on many if not all of these teams. There will be ongoing interactions during the summer. Dr. Burns will provide a list of the teams and provide suggestions for members of the teams to the Senate and Senate Council, and the Senate and Council may provide additional suggestions for faculty members.

Dr. Baum presented modifications to the Bylaws of the Committee on Student Performance and Professional Standards (CSPPS), which will be called the Student Promotions and Professional Standards Bylaws.

The meeting adjourned at 4 p.m.
