Dr. Safyer met with the Einstein chairs and affirmed his strong support for both research and teaching at Einstein. Negotiations with YU are ongoing.
The vote on the new tenure policy was discussed.
There was a Global Health Center meeting on November 10th that was well attended.
The New York Genome Center will be adapting the Einstein WASP software to use at the Genome Center.
The New York Structural Biology Center has recruited some top researchers who will enhance the cryo-EM capability.
The Montefiore Einstein Center for Innovative Simulation is being developed, which will form facilities for enabling students to enhance their skills at performing specific procedures using sophisticated robotic models.
Dr. Michael Reichgott has received an award from the LCME. Several Einstein faculty have been elected to fellowship in the AAAS.
The meeting adjourned at 3:55 p.m.
