PRESENT: Drs. Allen Spiegel, Jeffrey Segall, Elyse Sussman, Julia Arnsten, Jill Crandall, Nadine Katz, Ellie Schoenbaum, Victor Schuster, Pamela Stanley, Steve Walkley, Elena Martynova, Ed Burns, Mr. Paul Johnston

The members of the council introduced themselves.

The Dean summarized future issues to keep an eye on, especially changes in healthcare including challenges for Jacobi and North Central Bronx which are adjacent to Einstein and the Montefiore Moses Campus respectively.

New professors with strong research programs have been recruited to the Department of Medicine including Drs. David Wang (liver center) and Michael Ross (renal division).

The motion to form a committee to recommend guidelines for acceptable public discourse to the Dean was discussed.

The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
