Future agenda items were discussed. Yvonne Ramirez will present on HR on 11/15. Al Seminsky is consulting with Rachelle Sanders regarding updates on Development, and Jed Shivers has been consulted regarding an update on student housing. Gordon Earle will be invited to present on coverage of Einstein in the media.
Einstein outreach activities were discussed – both Einstein and Montefiore provide a number of services to the local community as overseen by the Community Based Service Learning Program and Community Action Network at Einstein and the Office of Community and Population Health at Montefiore.
An update on the Science Council meeting was provided. Dhanonjoy Saha reported on the activities and offerings of the Office of Grant Support, and will be presenting to the Senate as well. Yvonne Ramirez reported on changes to interview salary questions and paid leave, and Harris Goldstein reported on shared services.
The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is offering planning grants to create programs to increase opportunities for physicians to become involved in research. Einstein has received one of them for a brain science program.
