Updates were provided for the Middles States preplanning visit and cancer center director negotiations.

It is planned to formally revisit the Einstein strategic plan. Montefiore is undergoing a strategic plan update and upon completion, Einstein could then update its plan as well. One approach would be to have members of the faculty help both develop the plan and then commit to implementation as well.

There was a Board of Trustees meeting which was the final meeting of the current configuration of the Board. With the transition to independent degree granting status a new Board is being developed.

Concerns were expressed regarding student access to email on their phones.

The possibility of a Senate Development Committee was discussed, which likely might be part of the Philanthropy Council. It is important that there be close coordination with the development office in order to optimize the opportunities for developing new donors.

The possible activities of the newly reconstituted Senate Finance Committee were discussed.

The meeting adjourned at 4 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Jeffrey E. Segall, Ph.D.
Speaker, Einstein Senate
