• After approval of the minutes, Dr. Burns, filling in for Dr. Tomaselli, gave the Dean’s report, updating the Senate on the school accreditation process, on the mandate of the tenure policy committee, and on the Executive Leadership for Academic Medicine program. Finally, he gave an update on the Einstein/Montefiore strategic plan and announced a task force to examine Einstein’s departmental structure.

• The Senate Speaker, Dr. Arnsten, updated the Senate on the procedures to add assistant and associate professors to the senate council, and on the establishment of new committees, which was recently discussed at the Council meeting.

• Dr. Nerys Benfield, dean for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, presented the new faculty and leadership search policy.
