MINUTES OF SENATE COUNCIL MEETING 

WED DEC 16, 2020

ABSENT: Drs. Jonathan Alpert, Matthew Gamble, Chandan Guha

1. Meeting minutes from the Dec 2, 2020 Senate Council were discussed. The Dec 16 meeting is the final meeting of the 2020 Senate Council.
2. The Council further discussed the impacts of COVID-19 on the campus, including how to handle/disseminate advisories for upcoming holiday travel as well as plans for vaccination.
3. Issues related to IAS staffing and the effects of a COVID-19 microcluster among IAS technicians was discussed.
4. Dr. Nerys Benfield provided an updated on Diversity and Inclusion efforts at Einstein.
5. Roger Einiger unfortunately passed away on Dec 12, 2020 after a long battle with cancer, a huge loss for the Einstein community. Ruth Gottesman is serving as acting chair of the Einstein board.
6. A brief update on the 2021 Senate Council elections was provided. 

The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
