- Two new student representatives, Mr. Emilio Merheb (PhD) and Ms. Lindsay Pattison (MD) were introduced and welcomed to the Council.
- Meeting minutes from the Mar 10, 2021 meeting were reviewed, and revisions recommended.
- Shailesh Shenoy provided the Council with an overview of current plans for IT at Einstein.
- Email migration to einsteinmed.org is complete, and forwarding from einstein.yu.edu has ended. Upon accreditation, email will migrate to einsteinmed.edu but this will not require any action from individuals. Upon migration to .edu, mail can still be received at einsteinmed.org but all outbound mail will be from .edu.
- Installation of new fiber optic high speed wireless system, and development of “redundant” internet to avoid shortages due to storms, etc.
- An upgrade for processing capacity will soon be needed, current system can process up to 25 terabytes of data/hour but at times demand can be up to 200 terabytes/hour.
- Data sharing options were discussed, including Dropbox and Druva Insync. For Druva Insync, each Einstein employee may have an account set up for them by contacting Montefiore IT. Mr. Shenoy to provide and distribute information for available resources.
- The infrastructure for webcasting events from Lubin were discussed.
- Dean Tomaselli summarized the Middle States site visit; a report is anticipated on April 20th with final process completed by June.
- Dean Tomasellio offered remarks on recent events, including gun violence and anti-Asian hate crimes and bias. He emphasized that these are public health crises (as well as social crises) and implored the Council to identify ways to be active on these issues.
The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
