Awards & Funding Opportunities Funding for postdoctoral research The Sheryl and Dan Tishman Postdoctoral Fellowship was recently established and is currently accepting applications to recognize and support exceptional candidates applying for postdoctoral positions at the Dominick P. Purpura Neuroscience Department. Funding for student research, travel and meetings Funds being available, and for students in good standing (Actively participating in WIPs, Seminars, attending speaker lunches, and participating in the NGSO), the Department will: Pay for first-year students committed to joining Neuroscience to attend the annual Society For Neuroscience (SFN) meeting. At the discretion of the Neuroscience Chair, the Department may also pay for 1/3 of costs for any senior student to attend. At the meeting, students are required to participate in Einstein activities, including the Scientific Poster Competition which carries a $500 award for first place and $250 award for second place. Support the Diana Casper Fund, which was established to support outstanding women graduate students (inclusive of womxn/female-identifying and gender diverse students) to attend and present at the Society for Neuroscience Conference in order to further the development of their career in neuroscience. Offer a Junior Investigator Neuroscience Research Award (JINRA) award, which is a competitive grant mechanism, twice a year (Fall/Spring). The award is $10,000 that can be put towards infrastructure and reagents for the proposed course of study intended to compliment ongoing research in an Einstein laboratory. Offer a Tishman Scholarship, which recognizes and supports exceptional graduate students at the Dominick P. Purpura Neuroscience Department. Ph.D. Students Mobility Award, which promotes international research and collaboration between Einstein graduate students and their counterparts at the Institut de Neurociencias, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Provide the student with a $2000 NRSA award if their NRSA application is funded, to be spent in a manner of their choosing.
