Center for Continuing Professional Development

Overview

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center's Continuing Education (Einstein-Montefiore) program aligns with the institution's mission of fostering a diverse community dedicated to leadership in alleviating human suffering caused by disease.

Our Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) program is designed to address the educational requirements of healthcare professionals and the healthcare team. It achieves this by developing innovative, evidence-based continuing educational activities aimed at fostering enhancements in clinical healthcare, medical research, and lifelong learning.

Einstein-Montefiore develops educational activities covering a wide range of topics in basic medical sciences, clinical medicine, and patient care fostering both individual and team growth. Content areas span all medical specialties and subspecialties, addressing topics such as faculty development, technology, patient safety, risk management, personalized medicine, innovations in medicine, leadership, and research. These areas empower healthcare team members to implement enhancements in healthcare delivery systems and practices.

We offer a diverse selection of innovative and interactive educational activities to bridge practice gaps and address the underlying educational needs of healthcare providers and teams from various professions and specialties. Our educational formats encompass live (in-person and virtual) activities, regularly scheduled series (RSS), and enduring materials in video, audio, and print formats.

Einstein-Montefiore expects the following results from its IPCE Program:

  • Implement educational initiatives that enhance healthcare professionals and teams’ knowledge, skills/strategy and/or performance which ultimately contribute to improved patient care and outcomes worldwide.
  • Promote the development of leadership skills in learners tasked with shaping not just Einstein-Montefiore's vision and core values, in situ, but also contribute to the value of the broader domain of interprofessional education.
  • Contribute to a continuing quality improvement (CQI) environment that demonstrates improvements in quality and patient safety initiatives.
  • Deliver CE activities in educational formats that provide members of the healthcare team opportunities to collaborate and effectively learn from, with and about each other.

Einstein-Montefiore IPCE program aligns with our commitment to translate medical education into practical treatments, cures, and preventive measures for diseases. We assess the effectiveness of our mission through qualitative and quantitative measurements. This review process encourages continuous improvement throughout the IPCE program.
