Graduates from the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the Albert
Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) have historically gone onto great
medical and academic careers.
Of the 516 MSTP graduates who have completed postgraduate training, 73% are
engaged in biomedical research and academic medicine. They hold faculty
appointments at 83 medical schools, academic medical centers, NIH and the
FDA. Others hold positions at 28 pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Collectively, the graduates who have completed postgraduate training have
published >26,500 papers, for an average of ~61 publications/graduate. In
addition, they hold over 260 patents. Thus, by a variety of measures they
have gone on to highly successful careers.
Life after the MSTP at Einstein begins with residency for most graduates.
