The updating of the Faculty Handbook and Senate ByLaws in recognition of the merger with Montefiore was discussed. Montefiore and outside counsel have agreed that the Senate ByLaws and Faculty Handbook are the guiding documents for Einstein. The Faculty Handbook has become an online collection of policies. Replacing Yeshiva University with Montefiore where appropriate is being done and there will be an ongoing process of aligning HR policies with those of Montefiore. Faculty related policies in the handbook should be examined as well, in consultation with the faculty. Regarding the ByLaws, a committee will be formed to examine changes that should be considered.
The residency match results have been announced. Einstein students were very successful, with >99% matching. In addition, the US News and World Report now lists Einstein as number 23 in the primary care ranking.
The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.Respectfully submitted,
Jeffrey E. Segall, Ph.D.
Speaker, Einstein Senate
