Mr. Al Seminsky presented an update on the Development Office. The Montefiore and Einstein Development Offices have been merged. The goal is to increase staffing up to roughly 40 staff members, which will be on the low side for medical schools in the city but workable. The increased staffing will be particularly important for the success of the campaign now being developed. The overall goal is $325 million over 5 years for Einstein, and roughly $125 million campaign to follow for Montefiore. The Einstein campaign will include $75 million for the endowment. The campaign is currently in the ‘silent phase’, with acquisition of pledges from trustees prior to entering the public phase. The public phase is anticipated to include more active recruitment of potential donors than has been done previously, including both leadership groups and alumni.

The meeting adjourned at 4:03 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Jeffrey E. Segall, Ph.D.
Speaker, Einstein Senate
