Professional Interests

Dr. Serena Roth is a general internist with a special interest in the management of patients with chronic pain. She completed a medical degree at NYU School of Medicine and a Primary Care/Internal Medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Following residency, she conducted tuberculosis research in Bangkok, Thailand at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

Dr. Roth joined the Montefiore Einstein Division of General Internal Medicine in 2011 as a clinician educator. She is active in medical student and resident education, especially regarding chronic pain and opioids. She was a site director for the Ambulatory and Internal Medicine clerkships from 2014-2018 and is now an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
