Chuang Receives ACG Presidential Poster Distinction

Nelson Chuang, MD
BRONX, NY - November 4, 2013 - The Department of Medicine extends a warm congratulations to third-year resident Dr. Nelson Chuang, Internal Medicine Residency Program Firm 2, whose abstract entitled “Adult-onset Autoimmune Enteropathy Managed with Infliximab and Azathioprine” was selected as one of the Presidential Poster recipients for the 2013 American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) meeting last month in San Diego.

The ACG Abstract Selection Committee reviewed over 2,000 abstracts and felt that this submission deserved this special recognition. Each year, less than 5% of accepted abstracts receive this distinction for high quality, novel, unique and interesting research.

Dr. Chuang's abstract was designated as a Presidential Poster Recipient in both the Preliminary Registration Program and the Final Program for the 2013 Annual Meeting, and a flyer listing all of the recipients was placed in the attendee registration bags. In addition, the ACG staff placed a Presidential Poster ribbon on his poster board at the meeting.

Earlier this year, Dr. Chuang was among winners of the 2013 Resident Fellow Research Symposium for his poster entitled "mTOR signaling in the intestinal mucosa is modulated by both diet and inhibition of Notch signaling".
