Yasmin Mossavar-Rahmani, Ph.D., RD, CDN is a nutrition scientist  with a background in anthropology and a strong interest in using objective measures to assess lifestyle components such as diet, sleep and physical activity in multicultural populations. Her goal is to understand the sources of measurement error and improve precision of assessment and relate these lifestyle measures to health outcomes.

She serves as principal investigator for National Institutes of Health funded studies including the  “Multicultural Healthy Diet to Reduce Cognitive Decline & Alzheimer's Disease Risk” and multiple principal investigator for "Cardiometabolic Outcomes in Multi-ethnic Physical Activity  & Sedentary behavior Study (COMPASS)." She has served as nation-wide principal investigator for the Study of Latinos: Nutrition & Physical Activity Assessment Study (SOLNAS);co-investigator for the Sueño Study of Latinos Sleep study, co-investigator for the Women’s Health Initiative Nutrition & Physical Activity Assessment Study (NPAAS) and co-investigator for the New York City Clinical Center Women’s Health Initiative Dietary Modification Trial.
