Working Effectively with a Statistician

Event Description
This collaboration between the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research and the Office of Faculty Development is the fourth session of the Clinical Research Methodology series. This session will review statistical considerations such as statistical plan and power analysis, the role of statisticians in stages from study design, data collection, data analysis to study write-up, and resources available to our community. It will inform best strategies for effective collaboration between investigators and statisticians. This session will ensure all investigators are equipped with the necessary tools to benefit from the expertise of statisticians for effective biomedical research.
By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:
1. Identify when to contact a statistician.
2. Learn the advantages to involving a statistician early.
3. Communicate and share data with statisticians efficiently and effectively.
