PURPOSE
The purpose of the Safety Suggestion Program is to maintain a safe, healthy and productive work environment at Albert Einstein College of Medicine by offering a process through which safety improvements can be identified by employees and employees can also be recognized for practicing safe work habits.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Safety suggestions should have a campus wide impact. Safety concerns within your own department/division should be discussed with your supervisor. Safety suggestions could also include a nomination of a colleague who has acted above and beyond in solving or addressing a safety related issue.
SELECTION PROCESS
Suggestions for improvement will be received by the Safety Committee chairperson. All suggestions will be reviewed each quarter by the Safety Committee. Safety committee members will then vote for the best suggestion.
Suggestions for nominations of a colleague for outstanding safety award will be followed up and confirmed. An Outstanding idea to address a safety issue will be recognized to the Einstein Community on our website, through flyers and posters. Announcements will also be made on employee recognition day and on anniversary celebrations.
AWARD
The winner(s) will receive receive a Certificate of Appreciation and be able to select from an assortment of 'safety-related' gifts. Winner(s) will be notified and will receive their award at the next quarterly Safety Committee meeting. Safety committee members are ineligible to receive awards.
