Our clinicians and trainees conduct research on autism interventions (e.g., Early Start Denver, Coping Cats). RFK CERC partners with national research networks, including Autism Intervention Research on Physical Health (AIR-P), the Developmental Behavioral Pediatric Research Network (DBPNet), and the SPARKS genetic screening study. With the ongoing involvement of persons with IDD and their families/caretakers, our UCEDD conducts applied research, evaluation, and public policy analysis. In the past 2 years, this has included the perception of Covid-19 vaccines in the I/DD community and child sleep in Head Start.
Our UCEDD is leading the “Disability as Diversity: Reducing Researcher Roadblocks (D2/R3)” study to identify and impact researcher-facing factors that lead to I/DD under-representation in studies. This project is funded by the 2023 renewal of the Einstein-Montefiore Institute research project of the Einstein-Montefiore Institute for Clinical and Translational Research grant (NCATS: 1-UM1TR004400).
