The Department of Medicine established a Well-Being committee in 2022, which meets regularly to address the issues of well-being and burnout among its members.

The DOM well-being committee has sponsored multiple programs over the years that can improve well-being in the department. We hope you will find some of the programs below helpful.

  1. Clinical Utilities

  2. Peer Connection
    1. The DOM Well-Being Grant Program:
      The Department of Medicine launched the well-being grant program in 2023-2024. The program provides financial support to conduct physician well-being related projects.

    2. COMPASS (Colleagues Meeting to Promote and Sustain Satisfaction) Groups
      The Department of Medicine’s COMPASS Groups offer an opportunity to break bread and share experiences with physician colleagues regularly. They have been shown to improve burnout, depressive symptoms, and job satisfaction.

  4. Department of Medicine First Aid for Burnout Program (FAB)
    Provider burnout and stress is commonly experienced by healthcare workers. It can be exacerbated by factors like personal/professional stress, current events, the COVID-19 pandemic etc. Some of the signs of burnout and stress include exhaustion, depersonalization, lack of efficacy, feeling under appreciated and compassion fatigue.

    Department of Medicine providers who are experiencing burnout symptoms may access individual support through the First-Aid for Burnout (FAB) program with DOM clinical psychologist Stephanie Leung, Ph.D.

    Dr.Leung will offer recommendations, resources, and facilitate referrals if needed. All contact with the First-Aid for Burnout program will be strictly confidential. Those who are interested should email fab@einsteinmed.org. This is a private email account that is accessed only by Dr. Leung.
