Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

Overview

Message from Program Director Melissa Rooney, MD:

I wish to warmly welcome you to our website for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore. I cannot think of a more exciting time to be entering a career in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry! We are in an era in which advances in neuroscience, epigenetics and neuropsychopharmacology are broadening our horizons of inquiry, as we hone our skills in thinking developmentally and creatively in order to help children and families.

Over the course of our two-year training program, fellows rotate on cutting-edge collaborative services within psychiatry and pediatrics and work with school-based and college-mental health services. Experiences in a longitudinal outpatient child psychiatry clinic, a state-hospital inpatient psychiatry unit and in a developmental disabilities clinic represent only some of the outstanding rotations our fellows are able to take part in. So, enjoy the site, visit ‘virtually’ with our wonderful trainees and faculty and again, my warmest welcome to you.
