Albert Einstein’s academic full-time faculty members are active in a full range of research to improve imaging accuracy, expand the information that is obtainable from noninvasive examinations, and improve treatment of cardiac medical conditions.
Montefiore Einstein researchers have initiated numerous protocols to study the following:
- Noninvasive measurement of hemodynamic information (heart chamber pressures) previously measured only by invasive catheterization procedures
- Predictors of patient prognosis in congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Methodology to improve therapeutic benefit of single-sided and bi-ventricular pacemakers
Core Laboratory Services
The Noninvasive Cardiology Diagnostic Testing service serves as a core laboratory for clinical trials and ongoing research studies across the nation. Montefiore Einstein echocardiography experts provide neutral interpretations and reinterpretations of echocardiograms for these investigations.
Montefiore Einstein investigators are currently partnering with the pharmaceutical industry to conduct investigations in the following areas:
- Therapeutic benefits of novel medications for blood disorders (Novartis)
- Heart recovery in advanced heart failure patients requiring ventricular assist devices (LVAD) (Thoratec)
