Overview
The Division of Geriatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine is one of the oldest in the nation. Our mission:
- To promote successful aging and provide the highest quality health care to older adults across all care settings.
- To partner with medical and surgical specialties to develop innovative interdisciplinary team approaches to improve health and quality of life of older patients.
- To conduct research from bench to bedside to improve the health of older adults in local, national and global communities.
- To train the next generation of healthcare professionals.
- To initiate, promote and support efforts of healthcare professionals, educators, patients, families, and policymakers to improve the health and vitality of older adult.

Is Dancing the Kale of Exercise?
Dr. Joe Verghese, chief, Geriatrics, Einstein and Montefiore; and director, Montefiore Einstein Center for the Aging Brain, discusses his study in the New England Journal of Medicine which found dancing was associated with a reduced risk of developing dementia.
