Application

All applications for the child residency positions must utilize the NRMP matching system. We are the university program for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and the Saul Korey department of Neurology, named for our founding chair. When applying through the NRMP, our program is listed as the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/University Program (Bronx, NY), 1853521002 Should you have any questions in the application process or about our program, please contact Rose Imperati  (718-430-2447) . When your application is complete, you will be contacted by e-mail to arrange a visit to the Department for interviews with our faculty, a tour of our facilities and an opportunity to meet with our residents. Interviews are conducted on selected Wednesdays from November through January. Applicants are invited to a pre-interview dinner with our current housestaff on the Tuesday evening prior to their interview date.

Training track options: 

You must first complete 2 years (PGY 1&2) of an ACGME approved training program in Pediatrics before beginning your Child Neurology Training.  

Albert Einstein College of Medicine offers 2 positions in Child Neurology per year –  1 is a 5 year , categorical  program that includes 2 years of pediatrics residency at Montefiore/CHAM, followed by 3 years of neurology training.  You apply to the categorical program with a single application.  The second position is a 3 year advanced program.  You have the option of doing your pediatrics training at Montefiore/CHAM.  Alternatively,  you are may choose to complete your pediatrics training at any ACGME approved preliminary pediatrics training program.  The  3 year categorical program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center is joined to the 2 year pediatrics preliminary training program at the Montefiore Medical Center.  To apply for the 2 year pediatrics preliminary program, you must send an application separate from your child neurology application to the preliminary pediatrics program at Montefiore Medical Center.
