Jacobi Medical Center is part of the North Bronx Healthcare Network of New York City’s Health and Hospitals Corporation. J acobi Hospital has a 44-bed general pediatric floor, 8-bed pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a newborn nursery, and a 28-bed level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Residents provide consultation services for patients with neurologic complaints. As Jacobi mostly serves the under-insured and culturally diverse residents of the Bronx, residents are exposed to a broad range of neurologic disorders, from the most common to the rarest. Residents work together with a busy emergency department, as well as the pediatric, surgical, obstetrics, psychiatric, and rehabilitation units.
Finally, Jacobi has one of the three resident continuity clinics, where residents learn to manage outpatient pediatric neurological problems across many subspecialties of child neurology .
With vastly diverse neurologic cases, complemented by clinical expertise and modern facilities, Jacobi provides a uniquely rich neurology residency training experience.
Dr Mitchell Steinschneider is the Site Director for resident education at Jacobi.
