Patient Care An “ICU Without Walls,” the Division of Critical Care Medicine provides clinical expertise at Weiler Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center in medical intensive care, general surgical intensive care, cardiothoracic surgery intensive care, neurosurgery intensive care, trauma intensive care, and acute coronary care. Pioneering Interdisciplinary Care The Montefiore Einstein Critical Care Division provides clinical expertise at Weiler Hospital, Wakefield hospital, and Montefiore Medical Center in the following areas: Medical intensive care General surgical intensive care Cardiothoracic surgery intensive care Neuroscience intensive care Acute coronary care As an “ICU Without Walls, the Critical Care Medicine Consult Service: Provides bedside delivery of intensive care anywhere in the hospital Maintains the emergency room off diversion and the operating room off cancellation Conducts interdisciplinary rounds on all ventilator patients outside of the ICU The Montefiore Einstein Division of Critical Care Medicine is currently: Developing programs in Simulated Crisis Management, New Server and Database development Investing in family satisfaction through installation of video forms and family center websites Participating in national guidelines dealing with rapid response teams, outlier management and clinical research structure Using point of care ultrasound as a standard of care as part of the physical exam for all the critically ill patients Initiating Montefiore's Critical and Acute Illness Recovery Engagement (CAIRE) Clinic to facilitate the road to recovery for survivors of acute illness.
