Education Rheumatology is the sub-specialty of internal medicine that focuses on complex and multi-systemic autoimmune and auto-inflammatory disorders. Our program's mission is to serve our greater community while educating our fellows to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care as they become independent clinicians, investigators, and leaders within the field of rheumatology. We aim to provide individualized care embedded in the principles of respect and appreciation for our diverse patient and provider population where we acknowledge and celebrate the diversity and cultural perspectives that influence the health of our patients. Our didactic curriculum and clinical exposure to a diverse patient population with a wide spectrum of disease manifestations, helps our trainees develop the skills required to practice independently in either an academic or community setting. Our trainees reflect their representation as physicians who are empowered by human values to heal, teach, discover, and advance the health of all patients with rheumatic diseases.
