Symposium Mission
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center's Musculoskeletal Repair and Regeneration Symposium brings together leading clinicians, scientists and researchers to advance discovery, accelerate translation and inspire innovation in musculoskeletal repair and regeneration.
This year's symposium highlights:
- Current Concepts in Pediatric Hand Surgery and Brachial Plexus Injury
- Advances in Regenerative Therapies for Musculoskeletal Disorders
- The Cellular Milieu of Musculoskeletal Tissue Regeneration: Immune Cells, Stem Cells, and Beyond
By connecting fundamental science, regenerative medicine, and clinical innovation, the symposium fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and advances new approaches to restoring musculoskeletal function and improving patient care.
Goals and Features
This year’s symposium explores the frontiers of musculoskeletal repair and regeneration and clinical care, bringing together fundamental science, regenerative medicine and clinical innovation. Through dynamic presentations and engaging scientific discussions, the program will highlight emerging discoveries, innovative therapeutic approaches and their potential to improve musculoskeletal function and patient outcomes.
Program highlights include:
- Six distinguished speakers from leading institutions from across the region and the nation
- Engaging poster sessions showcasing innovative research
- The Young Investigator Award Session, recognizing and celebrating emerging leaders in the field
We are pleased to welcome an exceptional group of invited speakers:
Roger Cornwall, MD, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center
Steven Koehler, MD, Montefiore-Einstein
Chitra Dahia, PhD, Weill Cornell Medicine Graduate School of Medical Sciences
Chritopher Cardozo, MD, Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai
Michael Wosczyna, PhD, NYU Grossman School of Medicine
Nathaniel Dyment, PhD, University of Pennsylvania
This year’s agenda has been thoughtfully developed under the leadership of our Steering Committee Chairs: Lynn Ann Forrester, MD; Deepak Vashishth, PhD; Bowen Wang, PhD and Michael N Wosczyna, PhD. We are deeply grateful for their vision and dedication in crafting such a compelling program.
Registration
Deadline: November 5, 2026
Please us the Symposium Registration Form to register online.
Registration is free. Early registration is highly recommended.
Call for Abstracts for Poster Session and Young Investigator and Clinical Young Investigator Awards
We invite investigators to submit abstracts for the poster session, an important component of the Musculoskeletal Repair and Regeneration Symposium, and an opportunity to share recent research with colleagues across the region.
Abstracts from graduate students, medical students, residents and postdoctoral fellows will be considered for the Young Investigator Awards in basic science and clinical. Four award recipients will be selected:
- Three Young Investigator Award recipients
- One Clinical Young Investigator Award recipient
Each award recipient will receive a prize and a plaque.
Abstract Submission
To be eligible for an award, participants must register for the Symposium and submit an abstract by October 9, 2026. Abstract submission will open on August 28, 2026.
Abstracts are limited to one page and should include:
- Study objective
- Brief description of methods
- Summary of results
- Conclusions
- Significance of the work
Each presenter can submit only one abstract, please do not submit multiple abstracts.
As part of the Symposium’s mission to foster scientific exchange and collaboration throughout our region, we strongly encourage the submission of recent work completed or presented in 2026, including work that has also been submitted to or presented at other scientific meetings.
