Office of International Services

Welcome to the Office of International Services

The OIS serves as a resource regarding immigration matters and to provide guidance to our international students, scholars, faculty, staff and their families on matters relating to their studies and employment. This office is the liaison with the Department of State and the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS).

The OIS is located on the Jack & Pearl Resnick Campus, 1300 Morris Park Avenue, Belfer Building, Room 1205, Bronx, NY, 10461. The office hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. It is recommended that an appointment be scheduled to discuss any concerns or questions.

Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record:

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has automated the Form I-94, Arrival/Departure Record, at air and sea ports of entry. Upon inspection at the point of entry, CBP will give foreign travelers a tear sheet with instructions on how to look up their electronic Form I-94 on CBP’s website. From this website, you can print out your Form I-94 in paper format. Foreign travelers may need their Form I-94 when requesting certain USCIS benefits, or when applying for public benefits from other government agencies. For more information regarding CBP’s I-94 automation or to access your electronic Form I-94, please see CBP’s News Release or visit their CBP's website.

Immigration Announcements

Effective 10/19/2020, the USCIS premium processing fee increased to $2500.   The fee is paid when filing the Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, (for H-1B) and Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker (for permanent residency). https://www.uscis.gov/i-907

Updated Immigration Announcements can be found on our Intranet Portal under Immigrant Announcements. https://intranet.einsteinmed.edu/announcements/immigration-at-einstein/

Administrative Processing Information: Some visa applications require further administrative processing, which takes additional time after the visa applicant’s interview by a consular officer. Applicants are advised of this requirement when they apply. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of the visa interview. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Visa applicants are reminded to apply early for their visa, well in advance of the anticipated travel date. https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en.html

The United States Citizenship & Immigration Services requires that all nonimmigrants report a change of address to the Service within ten days of moving. There is no fee for the processing of the form and the procedure is very simple. The USCIS form AR-11 allows you to change your address online.

Once you complete the AR-11, make a copy for yourself and one for the OIS. Send the copy to the OIS, Belfer Building Room 1205 so we may update your record in SEVIS.
