Cores/Vivarium Core Facilities The Albert Einstein College of Medicine supports a broad array of Shared Scientific Facilities and Cores operated by experienced personnel to provide researchers with access to a wide array of techniques and services requiring expensive instrumentation, specialized facilities and/or a high degree of expertise to perform. These cores provide services to internal investigators and external customers in academia and private industry for a fee. Incubator tenants at Einstein have access to our cores through the iLab system and receive a discounted rate for services compared to external customers. Vivarium The Institute for Animal Studies (IAS) provides housing and husbandry services, health care and veterinary support, and regulatory oversight for all animals used in biomedical research and teaching at the college. Incubator tenants can obtain access to IAS services with an approved animal use protocol from Einstein’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
