Pre-Employment Screening Process
As a condition of employment at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, all final candidates will need to clear our pre-employment screening process.
The Screening Process Consists of the Following:
- Background Screening via third party vendor, Orange Tree Employment Screening which includes:
- Social Security Trace
- Criminal Background Investigation including Federal and State
- Sex Offender check
- OIG Screen
- OFAC (Exclusion List) Screen
- Education Verification (if degree is international, it will need to be translated and evaluated prior to start date).
- OHS Medical Clearance (if the position the candidate is interviewing for requires medical clearance)
- The candidate has the option of completing the clearance through their primary care physician or through our Occupational Health Services Office.
- If they elect to go with your primary care physician, they will be responsible for incurring the fees.
- 9 Panel Drug Screening
- The 9-panel drug test screens for the following controlled substances:
- Amphetamines
- Cocaine
- Opioids
- Barbiturates
- Benzodiazepines (lorazepam (Ativan), chlordiazepoxide (Librium), alprazolam (Xanax), diazepam (Valium)
Other screened substances include:- phencyclidine
- methaqualone
- methadone
- propoxyphene
