Graduate Medical Education

Residency Program

Our residency program uniquely prepares our residents for independent academic generalist practice or sub-specialty fellowship. Our residents are exposed to the depth and breadth of the field of Ob Gyn, with exposure and access to a diverse patient population, significant pathology, dedicated full time academic faculty and a pathway to autonomy.

Message From Our Residency Program Director

At Montefiore Medical Center, our mission is to educate top-tier medical professionals, serve our community's unique needs, and further the field of obstetrics and gynecology through innovative research.

Our vision is to cultivate future clinicians, scholars and leaders who will transform the practice of obstetrics and gynecology. We aim to develop specialists and generalists who not only possess comprehensive clinical skills but also a profound understanding of the healthcare disparities affecting women and birthing peoples. Through a curriculum deeply embedded in the experiences in the Bronx, one of the poorest counties in New York, our residents learn from a diverse patient population facing extensive medical and social complexities. This exposure equips our graduates with the insights and empathy needed to drive transformative change in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our graduates emerge as dedicated clinicians who appreciate the intricate dynamics of patient care and who are committed to improving outcomes for all, particularly the underserved.

Our residency program is enriched by research opportunities that span across the disciplines within our Obstetrics and Gynecology and extend into the broader Montefiore Einstein community through collaborations with the Cancer Center, Cardiology, Infectious Diseases and Social Medicine. Residents have the unique advantage of working alongside esteemed researchers, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge studies that push the boundaries of medical knowledge and clinical practice in obstetrics and gynecology

We are proud of the rich learning environment we provide at Montefiore. It is through this comprehensive approach that our residents become more than just doctors—they become lifelong learners and leaders dedicated to advancing the field of OB-GYN and improving the lives of the women and birthing peoples we serve.

Our mission is to provide the highest quality educational experience in collaboration with our colleagues in multiple disciplines, in both clinical and basic science.
