Montefiore Einstein offers two ACGME-approved, one-year fellowship positions in hematopathology each year. As a major academic tertiary-care hospital in New York City, we provide resources and materials in all aspects of hematopathology, with a mix of adult and pediatric bone-marrow and lymph-node biopsies as well as consultation from our surgical pathology service. Each year, we receive approximately 800 to 1,000 bone-marrow biopsies, 800 to 1,000 lymph-node biopsies and over 4000 flow cytometry specimens for immunophenotyping. The program is enhanced by strong, benign hematology, coagulation and cytogenetics/molecular services.
Our faculty members are dedicated to teaching and are well-known for their highly personal, one-on-one teaching approach. Graduating fellows are fully prepared for a career in either an academic or private practice setting. Both H1 and J1 visas are supported.
Applicants must be eligible for AP or AP/CP Board certification.
Two appointments.
Appointment is for one year. Stipend is dependent upon level of training. PGY-5: $80,000 – PGY-6: $83,000. On-campus housing is available at reduced price. Montefiore pays 100% of the MontePrime EPO premium for medical insurance for the fellows and their family members.
