Einstein's department of pediatrics pursues a multifaceted and challenging mission. We are dedicated to providing the highest quality clinical care to our patients while also conducting cutting-edge biomedical research targeting diseases that affect infants, children and adolescents. Additionally, we integrate the latest scientific and medical advances into training the next generation of pediatricians.
This is an exciting time in academic medicine, with significant breakthroughs in understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms of diseases rapidly being translated into the development of innovative therapies for our pediatric patients. Students, residents and fellows in our program — working with our diverse, internationally renowned faculty of outstanding basic scientists, clinical investigators, clinical specialists, behavioral scientists and pediatricians — are integral participants in these efforts, at the bench and at the bedside. Together we are pursuing our ultimate mission, to further our understanding of disease in order to improve the treatment of and quality of life for our infant, child and adolescent patients.
Our academic programs include affiliations with The Children's Hospital at Montefiore Medical Center (CHAM), Jacobi Medical Center, Schneider Children’s Hospital at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center. Our residency programs in pediatrics are based at these institutions.
