Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship

The Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center; under the auspices of Bronx Psychiatric Center (BPC) and anchored within the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is a 1 year ACGME approved training program for graduates of residency training programs in General Psychiatry.

Drawing on an ethnically diverse socio-economic patient population, fellows get a wide variety of clinical experiences ranging from Opioid Replacement Treatment with Methadone and Buprenorphine, MICA (Adult as well as Adolescent Outpatient Treatment), Inpatient Detoxification Unit, as well as a General Hospital-Based Substance Abuse Consultation Service at Montefiore Medical Center.

There is an opportunity to carry patients over a period of the full training experience treating MICA patients and providing both psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacologic management. Fellows have an opportunity to interact with an interdisciplinary team in the various clinical settings.

Within a collegial atmosphere, supervision is provided by excellent Clinical and Academic Faculty with considerable experience with the addiction population. We draw from applicants throughout the United States with both a clinical and research orientation.

Fellows participate in case conferences and seminars while connecting to a wide variety of faculty throughout Montefiore Substance Abuse programs and the Montefiore Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
