The Steidl lab uses recognition of glycans on proteoglycans to isolate potentially novel subsets of hematopoietic and leukemic cells. The Kielian lab investigates mechanisms of entry and exit of enveloped RNA viruses that fuse with the plasma membrane, including Dengue and Chikungunya. The Meier lab studies transport of RNA-protein complexes across the nuclear envelope and within the nucleus. Trafficking mechanisms within the cell are a broad focus.
