Curriculum Fellows with the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program at Montefiore’s Moses Campus deliver academic lectures on topics of their own choosing and participate in academic conferences, including journal club, pathology rounds, and case conferences. Fellow responsibilities: Actively work with house staff and medical students to aid in their understanding of how to diagnose and manage liver diseases. Gain an understanding of imaging studies used in the diagnosis of liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma. Evaluate and manage patients in a private office setting at our Transplant Evaluation Clinic. Manage a panel of patients in the outpatient continuity clinic at our hepatology clinic. Grow in their understanding of end-of-life issues for patients with advanced liver disease and hepatocellular carcinoma, including appropriate communication with the patient and family. Observe organ procurement and transplantation.
