Salary and Benefits

PGY V salary for the 2022-23 academic year will be $80,000. As employees of Montefiore Medical Center, fellows received a generous benefit package, including a choice of health insurance plans, four weeks vacation, and paid holidays.

In addition to 4 weeks of vacation annually, fellows may attend 5 days of conference meetings.

Program Requirements

Individuals accepted into the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry training program must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME-accredited American or Canadian residency in psychiatry. Applicants applying for the Child Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship must have completed Child Psychiatry training in addition to meeting the requirements above. If not US residents, applicants must have a J1 or H1 visa.

The complete application packet includes the following submitted by September 30 to Dr. Rubiahna Vaughn:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Completed Common Application Form provided by the Academy of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry
  • Three letters of reference including letter from residency Training Director
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical and/or graduate school transcripts
  • Copy of state licensure
  • USMLE status
  • Notarized copy of ECFMG certificate, where applicable
  • Visa status

These documents should be sent as a single PDF to Dr. Rubiahna Vaughn (ruvaughn@montefiore.org). All qualified applicants will be invited for an interview with the program director and faculty.

Interviews begin in October and usually finish by mid-November. This year all interviews will be conducted virtually.
