Dr. Kuniholm has worked in the fields of HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis epidemiology since he was a graduate student, and conducted the first nationally representative study of hepatitis E virus epidemiology as a post-doctoral researcher at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in 2008. Dr. Kuniholm joined the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2008 first as an instructor and then as a research assistant professor where he received further training in molecular and genetic epidemiology. Since 2016 Dr. Kuniholm has served as an adjunct research assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at Einstein. Since 2016 Dr. Kuniholm has served on the faculty of the School of Public Health at the University at Albany.
