Dr. Caroline Halverstam is an associate professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Dermatology at Jacobi Medical Center. She did her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and completed an internship at New York University. She did residency in dermatology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York, where she served as Chief resident during her final year.
She is a board-certified dermatologist and member of the American Academy of Dermatology, New York State Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and New York Academy of Medicine, Dermatology division. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology Case Reports.
Dr. Halverstam focuses her career on complex medical dermatology and resident and student education. She is highly competent in treating adults and children for general dermatological conditions, including rashes, acne, rosacea and eczema as well as conducting skin cancer screenings. Dr. Halverstam is also well trained in the treatment of complex dermatological diseases including difficult cases of psoriasis, blistering diseases and auto-immune diseases.
