Professional Interests
Lauren Roth, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an Attending Physician in the Division of Academic General Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. In 2022, Dr. Roth was appointed as the inaugural Director of Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s new Service-Learning Course.
Dr. Roth provides pediatric primary care at the Comprehensive Family Care Center (CFCC). She has expertise in LGBTQ+ health education and gender affirming care. Dr. Roth's research interests include innovation in medical education, the general pediatrician’s role in providing care for transgender and nonbinary youth, and how to best educate pediatric faculty and trainees about providing inclusive and affirming care for LGBTQ+ youth.
Dr. Roth received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology at Emory University. She attended medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. She completed her residency in pediatrics at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and was awarded the “Super Senior” Resident of the Year Award during her final postgraduate year. Since becoming faculty at Montefiore Einstein, Dr. Roth has received the Award for Innovation in Medical Student Education (AIMSE) grant at Einstein in 2022, the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) Emerging Innovators Grant in 2023, and the Academic Pediatrics Association Early Career Teaching Award in 2024.
Dr. Roth is board certified in pediatrics. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and a member of the Academic Pediatric Association (APA). Dr. Roth is the co-chair of the LGBTQ+ Health and Well-Being Special Interest Group of the APA. She is a member of the Trans Youth Working Group at Montefiore, the LGBTQIA+ Health Curriculum Working Group at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and on the Resident Education Committee within the Division of Academic General Pediatrics. Her work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals.
