Dr. Pandit received her MD and MPH degrees from Columbia and stayed on to complete her residency in Emergency Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Following residency, Dr. Pandit was recruited to faculty at Columbia where she was deeply involved in the Emergency Medicine Department's leadership structure and evolution.  In the Department, she served as Director of Faculty Development and Director of Educational Program Development.  She also led a grant-funded effort to revamp and improve the teaching assessment process for Emergency Medicine faculty.  At Columbia’s medical school, Dr. Pandit served on several curriculum committees, including the course evaluation subcommittee, the major clinical year (clerkship year) subcommittee, and the curriculum revision subcommittee.  Outside Columbia, Dr. Pandit is currently the co-chair for the 2024 annual conference of the AAMC Northeast Group on Educational Affairs (NEGEA) and has been a regular presenter at local, regional, and national conferences on emergency medicine, wilderness medicine, and medical education.  In addition, Dr. Pandit completed the Medical Education Research Certification process through the AAMC and the Harvard Macy Institute course on Systems Based Approach to Assessments.  Dr. Pandit has published on topics in medical student education and faculty development.  In her new role, Dr. Pandit will work to identify what the faculty need to flourish at Einstein and will provide new educational content to assist faculty in their growth and promotion.
