One of the easiest and least expensive ways to have a greater impact than might be possible with a current gift is to include a provision to benefit Einstein in your will, trust or through a beneficiary designation on your IRA, life insurance or stock portfolio. Such provisions allow you the most flexibility and security should your circumstances or plans change.

The Albert Einstein Legacy Society
The Albert Einstein Legacy Society is an esteemed community of forward-thinking individuals who have made a commitment to secure the future of medical education and research. Membership in the Legacy Society is extended to alumni, donors, and friends who have included the College of Medicine in their will, trust, retirement account, or other planned giving arrangements.
With expertise in skin cancer, Mohs surgery, and aesthetic dermatology, Dr. Ellen Marmur, MD ’99 integrates her artistic talents and love of the outdoors into her holistic approach to patient care. Dr. Marmur, an avid art enthusiast, is a celebrated dermatologist and founder of Marmur Medical, a woman-led practice in New York City.
“I’ve always been a visual person, and dermatology is about patterns, colors, and textures on the skin that tell a story,” she explains. Her philosophy, Preservation Aging®, emphasizes intentionality in all aspects of health, including sleep, exercise, spending time outdoors, stress reduction, and advanced treatments like photobiomodulation to rejuvenate skin.
She is just as intentional when it comes to planning for the future and, in this case, for the future at Einstein. Together with her husband, Dr. Jonathan Marmur, who is the nephew of renowned Einstein researcher Dr. Julius Marmur, they have found inspiration in the Jewish traditions of tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world) to support Einstein, where both of their roots run deep, with a gift from their estate. “For us, giving back to Einstein is an honor,” she says.

By planning early, as Ellen and Jonathan have done, you can be confident that the people and organizations you care most about will be provided for.
Making a gift, known as a bequest, through your will, trust or beneficiary designation, guarantees that your legacy endures. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after all other provisions are specified.
