New Employees
When onboarding, please contact Sonya so she can create AD credentials which will be used to log into Einstein websites such as IACUC and IT among many others.
IT Support
Please register for self-service password reset as soon as you get an AD account in case you get locked out. For any issues with IT, enter a ticket through the website.
Internet
A private internet connection for your lab is likely necessary as Einstein only provides throttled guest wifi for free. Private internet connections are provided by Altice. In order to arrange for service, please first contact Einstein’s Telecommunication Office: Telecom@einsteinmed.edu or 718.430.2448. The Telecommunications Office will help connect you with our Altice sales rep in order to determine what service you need and if your lab is currently wired for service. Note that installation cost, if any, is determined by Altice and is the responsibility of the tenant.
Engineering Work Requests
Any routine maintenance needed in your rented lab space must be requested through MicroMain our engineering work order system. To obtain access, please email sonya.rusanov@einsteinmed.edu with the name and email address of the person that will be responsible for submitting tickets for your lab (best to use just one account and share so your entire lab has access to work order status/history). If you have an emergency engineering request (i.e. a leak) call 718.430.3000.
Equipment Purchases
If you order equipment to be delivered to Einstein, you must have door-to-door delivery service from your vendor. Our housekeeping crew does not do equipment delivery to labs from our loading dock. They will, however, do regular small package delivery to your lab.
Equipment Moves and General Housekeeping Needs
Work requests to our housekeeping department can be made here. Note: if you are moving research equipment appropriate steps must be first taken to ready the device for move. An engineering work order or a service call to your equipment vendor may be needed to unhook/prepare the device for a move and then you must wipe down and have your device cleared by Environmental Health and Safety (see this checklist) before our housekeeping group can move research equipment.
Access to Core Facilities
The vast majority of cores at Einstein are available through iLab at favorable rates for our incubator tenants. Please create a master account for your lab here: Cores. Once your lab is setup, the rest of your employees can create iLab accounts and join your lab. A master service agreement is required before you begin using our cores and we need a purchase order to bill against. Tutorials on iLab and information about core facilities can be found on this website. For help with questions related to iLab you can email ilabadministrator@einsteinmed.edu.
Lab Safety/Lab Waste
See attached document. Note that Einstein EH&S offers chemical waste pick up for a nominal annual fee. This is billed through iLab.
Conference Room/Meeting Space
You may use Einstein conference rooms when they are not being used for college functions. The college uses Outlook to manage some conference room space, you can request a room booking by inviting a room by its email address as you would invite a person. Please see attached sheet with names of rooms along with their respective email addresses. The meeting rooms in the Price Center are the best choices when booking a room since they are the newest on campus and closest to the pay parking lot on Eastchester Road.
ULT Freezer Monitoring
If your lab has a -80 freezer, it can be connected to Einstein’s freezer alarm system to monitor if the freezer falls/rises above your setpoint. Use of this service requires a separate MOU to be signed along with a work order via MicroMain (see Engineering Work Requests above) to connect your device. Visit this website for more information.
Shipping
FedEx comes to campus daily (M-F) to deliver and pick-up packages. Tenants should establish their own FedEx account to pay for shipping and then drop items at the Belfer Loading Dock. You can access this area by going through the Belfer Security Desk/Office on the Basement Level in Room B03. Outside that office is a ~ 5 FT tall wire cage where you can place your FedEx package for pickup.
Journal Access
Access to articles and journals is available through our library website while you are on campus connected to our guest wireless network.
Gym Membership
Tenants can become members of the Anne & Isidore Falk Recreation Center/Max & Sadie Friedman Athletic Center. With its 75-foot, temperature-controlled swimming pool, gymnasium with full-size basketball court, indoor running track, racquetball and squash courts, and free weights, there are a multitude of recreation and fitness options for members to enjoy. Add to that the broad selection of weight-training stations and fitness machines, and you have a full arsenal of exercise equipment for developing an individualized fitness routine that meets your specific needs.
Parking
On campus outdoor parking can be arranged for a fee through the Einstein Security Office. Call 718.430.2180 to find out about available space. There is also a privately owned indoor parking garage near campus that offers daily and monthly parking. Contact them by calling 718.430.7021.
