Teaching

A native of Queens, Dr. Johnston is a Physician Team Leader for the Residency in Family and Social Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center.

Background

Prior to joining Montefiore Einstein, Dr. Johnston was a fellow in research at the University of Maryland Department of Family Medicine, and completed a MPH at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Preceding the fellowship, she worked for the Institute of Urban Family Health for sixteen years in various positions including Medical Director and Associate Residency Director of the Beth Israel/ Institute of Urban Family Health Residency Program in New York.

Dr. Johnston is a member of the New York State Academy of Family Physicians on the Operations Commission. She serves on the Board of Social Concern, a Home Health Aid Agency and is a member of Top Ladies of Distinction a National Community Service Organization involving youth and adults.
